My Story

I never thought that I would be here... proud mother, grandmother, adventure-seeker, outdoor enthusiast, passionate business woman and graduate student.  In my 20’s I was a single mom struggling to make ends meet. I wanted to go to college, but didn’t think that I could afford it. I didn’t think I was smart enough, didn’t think that I deserved those sorts of things. I have been to some very dark places; depression, traumatic life events, abusive relationships, and addiction. I was trapped and miserable, until at my darkest place, hope found me. The beauty of life came through Gratitude and Acceptance.  Today I am grateful for all that I have and I accept that I too am an imperfect human.

In March of 2018 I graduated Cum Laude  with a BS in Criminal Justice and am a current Executive MBA student at Sonoma State University. I am the Executive Director of a thriving non-profit, where everyday I have the opportunity to serve my community.

On the weekends I am typically hosting a BBQ at my house with all of my kids, hiking somewhere, or taking a road trip to explore some new adventure.

I have developed a love for business and a passion for life.  I hope that my experiences and accomplishments will serve as a powerful role model to young women and single parents who wish to pursue college and a professional career.

Together we can continue to build a community where EVERYONE has the opportunity to thrive.
